À coeur battant takes us into individual stories, but at the same time, they concern the whole family and society. These stories will allow us to better understand the dynamics of violence, to also measure the extent to which we live in a culture of violence where everyone in our families does not take enough measure of it. Are we too tolerant of violent words, looks, attitudes, gestures and controlling habits?

Laurent Lenoir, whose partner, Annie Briand, is bedridden by a degenerative illness, receives a visit from a nurse who offers her help. At the station, Patrick, who appears stupid to everyone around him, is ordered to change his attitude as soon as possible by his commander.

The first responders manage to save him, but at the hospital they see that this child has been mistreated since birth. Gauthier questions Gaston then Marthe Legault, the neighbor across the street who had made a report to the DPJ. Laura still maintains that Gaston is a good father. Gauthier forwards the file to Gabrielle who files charges against him. Rafael pays a surprise visit to Christophe. Michelle asks him if he is not her son.

Annie sends an SOS to the Violence Prevention Center. Christophe tells Michelle to forward the call to the police. Gauthier and Gabrielle wonder if we shouldn't co-accuse Laura if she continues to come to Gaston's defense. Anne tries to convince Stéphane to take action with Christophe

E5 Épisode 5 2024-02-06 · 45 min Xavier ends up in the hospital following a scuffle at home. Gauthier questions Patricia and Tom, who explain to him how things were going in the family, then his younger brother, Clément. Laura sinks deeper and deeper into her blindness towards Gaston. Gabrielle informs her of the dangers she runs if she continues to turn a blind eye to her partner's violence. Gauthier and Officer Harel fraternize after work. Stéphane asks to see Gauthier urgently. Christophe and Gabrielle have another emotionally charged conversation.

E6 Épisode 6 2024-02-13 · 45 min Gauthier and Officer Harel discuss Annie and Laurent's case, which continues to intrigue them. Nora, a non-binary university student, made an appointment with Christophe. She is being bullied and feels she is about to respond with violence. He is called upon to defend Nora, the non-binary student who finds herself facing justice for beating the fellow student who has been harassing her for months. Christophe goes to the hospital to see Xavier, who is gradually recovering. Hervé learns bad news. Determined to help Léane, her bullied student, Juliette, the physical education teacher, made an appointment with Christophe in the hope of having the support and advice of a specialist. In the center, Marc is falling in love with Michelle.

E8 Épisode 8 2024-02-27 · 45 min Gaston's trial begins. Gabrielle calls Bernadette, Laura's mother, as her first witness. Next comes Agent Harel and Laura herself. Officer Harel goes to Nora and Fé's class to ask anyone who witnessed their altercation to contact the police. Feeling that Juliette is the only person she can confide her distress to, Léane goes to her teacher and asks her to take her in. Juliette hastens to inform Christophe.

E9 Épisode 9 2024-03-05 · 45 min Xavier makes a decision that will change the course of his life. It is the turn of investigator Gauthier to testify at Gaston's trial. The latter wants to take action at the Violence Prevention Center. Michèle goes to the detention center to assess his sincerity and has a disturbing conversation with him. Juliette orchestrates a meeting between Léane and Benoît, a DPJ worker. She sends an SOS to Christophe when Léane's father, Pierre-Paul, shows up at her house to talk to her and take her home. Will Christophe be able to make him listen to reason?

E10 Épisode 10 2024-03-12 · 45 min Christophe has a lot to do when Lisa, Pierre-Paul's wife, and Jacob, his son, who have geolocated him, come to the Violence Prevention Center with the aim of stopping his efforts. The time for explanations has come! Gaston ends up testifying at his trial to give his version of the facts. Juliette informs Christophe of the latest developments concerning Léane. Barely 10 minutes later, he meets Hervé, who has come suddenly to tell him some news with serious consequences.

E11 Épisode 11 2024-03-19 · 45 min Xavier prepared a note to apologize to his family during his sentence, but years of violence have left their mark. Laurent is very nervous a few minutes before the judge pronounces the verdict which will determine the course of the rest of his life. It is also the moment of truth for Gaston. Will the judge take her explanations into account? Gabrielle is surprised and a little discouraged by Laura's reaction following the decision.

E12 Épisode 12 2024-03-26 · 45 min Laura calls Gabrielle for help when she learns that the Department of Youth Protection (DYP) wants to temporarily take away custody of her children. For her part, her mother, Bernadette, is ready to do whatever it takes to help her take charge. Juliette goes to the Violence Prevention Center to warmly thank Christophe, while dreaming of starting a relationship with him. Hervé found a job in a dog daycare. An elderly lady, Évelyne Tardif, offered to keep hers for a month. Gabrielle goes to the center to confide to Christophe a secret concerning her father. Tensions remain high in the L'Allier family.
