Calendar Countdown was the first British adaptation of the Des chiffres et des lettres format, and the forerunner of Countdown itself. The host was Richard Whiteley, the letters hostess was Cathy Hytner, and the Vital Statistician was Denise McFarland-Cruickshanks.
