Mary teaches them some of her mouthwatering Christmas recipes that are perfect for entertaining across Christmas week and even on the big day itself. On the menu are Mary's pan-fried halloumi with fresh tomato chutney, crispy salmon and dill filo parcels, a chicken-and-mushroom suet pie, a peppered fillet of beef with brandy sauce and perfect potato and squash roasties, and for the sweet tooth in us all, a hazelnut meringue roulade with white chocolate and clementines, and a limoncello trifle. Mary brings the best cooks out of her guests, who may be some of the most talented people in the country when it comes to their own fields but just need that extra boost of confidence behind the stove.
